Many lives have been saved and families forever changed thanks in part to the generous support of our donors.
“A dedicated and compassionate caregiver at St. Joseph Hospital for decades, Melvin Schwartz and his wife demonstrated their friendship and support for the Hospital by establishing a legacy through a generous charitable planned gift.”
Transformational Generosity
The year 2015 became a transformational year for Providence Saint Joseph Foundation, thanks to the single largest gift in the Foundation’s history.
Mr.Jaromír Střížka was an extraordinary man who lived to the age of 95. Driven by the Communists from his native Czechoslovakia, he rebuilt his fortune in America through the creation of a musical instrument distribution and retail company.
His great generosity will support our population health programs and fund important enhancements to our Emergency Department. These investments will help us handle our projected increases in patient demand and will support improvements that will provide a better, patient-centered experience in the Emergency Department.
Mr. Jaromír Střížka died on March 13, 2015 and will be remembered for his selfless generosity to our ministry. The Emergency Department will be named in honor of this spectacular bequest.
