Many lives have been saved and families forever changed thanks in part to the generous support of our donors.

Welcome, Dr. Narayanan
Esteemed specialist joins Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center to build a critical new program
Earlier this year, Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center hired talented specialist, Ramkishen Narayanan, M.D., to build a genitourinary (GU) program. The Center for Urologic Health located in the Disney Family Cancer Center (DFCC) at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center will be the community’s home for urologic care.
Dr. Narayanan aims to create an advanced program for comprehensive, multidisciplinary urological care and oncology, including treating prostate, kidney and bladder cancers.
“It’s very exciting to build a program from the ground up knowing that we have strong community and donor support behind us,” says Dr. Narayanan. “This is a critical specialty line, and we are just getting started. We’ll offer the same high-quality care as the major academic medical centers with a personalized feeling.”
Inclusive, comprehensive support Dr. Narayanan will collaborate with Diana Pearre, M.D., gynecological oncology specialist at the Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, to treat female urology patients and improve their quality of life.
“This program is inclusive and spans the entire continuum of care for both women and men,” he says. “From treating complex pelvic malignancies to very straightforward management of conditions like kidney stones, urinary incontinence and overactive bladder, our patients will get immediate access to highly skilled caregivers.”
The kind of clinician who gives patients his cell phone number, Dr. Narayanan wants the patientshe treats to feel fully supported. “I want patients to know that they’re not just out there dealing with this alone. We are here to partner with them in managing their care, from the beginning to the end of their treatment.”
