Donor generosity is transforming the future of cancer care
At Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, every breakthrough in care begins with the generosity of our community. Thanks to the support of our donors, we are elevating our commitment to leading-edge cancer care through the planned acquisition of two remarkable technologies: a new positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scanner and a state-of-the-art linear accelerator.
The Siemens Biograph Trinion PET/CT scanner — expected to be installed in 2026 — is the most advanced of its kind and will be housed at the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center. With ultra-fast imaging, intelligent AI-guided workflow, and a design that enhances comfort and reduces scan time, this powerful tool offers greater diagnostic precision across oncology, cardiology and neuroscience. It also improves patient experience with a calming environment and quicker, lower-dose procedures.
Complementing this advancement is the Varian Edge linear accelerator, an industry-leading radiosurgery system that delivers highly focused radiation with sub-millimeter accuracy. Expected to be installed in mid-2026, its ability to track and target tumors in real time — while sparing healthy tissue — means patients receive faster, safer and more effective treatment with fewer side effects.
These aren’t just upgrades in equipment; they’re investments in people. Because of you, Providence Saint Joseph is leading the way forward in personalized, compassionate cancer care.
