Making An Impact
Providence Saint Joseph Foundation board member and golf committee chair Michael Daruty
Michael Daruty, has served as a committee chair of the Mario Lopez Golf Classic for the last nine years, lending his formidable leadership skills to organizing and executing a successful event year after year.
Through Michael’s decades-long role as the senior vice president of content management at NBCUniversal, he has been able to engage a diverse group of supporters for the tournament.
“It’s my way of giving back,” shares Michael. “I’m a process person, so organizing the tournament plays to my strengths. My friends at Providence Saint Joseph Foundation and I start the planning in early December. It’s a feat of logistics that takes a lot of hard work from a great group of volunteers and Foundation staff.”
After losing his father and mother-in-law, Michael experienced firsthand the importance of access to outstanding medical care. “When I send a family member or friend to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, I’m confident they will receive quality and compassionate care,” says Michael. “It’s personally rewarding to me to donate and help raise funds that support the medical center so they can continue to provide patients with the latest advances in care.”
Michael’s years of service have made a significant impact. “This tournament wouldn’t be the same without Michael,” says Tina Johann, chief philanthropy officer, Providence Saint Joseph Foundation. “Our entire community owes him a debt of gratitude for his years of commitment to making this a tremendously successful fundraiser and highly anticipated highlight of the summer.”
