In addition to serving on the Providence Saint Joseph Foundation Board of Governors, Mike sits on an advisory board to the chair and director of the Carnegie Observatories and sits on the Caltech Chairs Council for the Division of Geological and Planetary Science.
What motivates your desire to give back?
The fact that for years the institution has been there for our family, our employees, and the community at large.
Why are you supporting the medical center?
Our business, along with our extended family, has traditionally supported the medical center.
Why did you agree to join the foundation board?
My father had been on the foundation board when I was growing up, and many of my friends were on the foundation board when I joined. It just seemed natural. The foundation is a critical part of assuring the health of the Medical Center long term. My first project as a foundation board member was to work on events that supported the Disney Family Cancer Center. It was quite rewarding.
